It's the second year the Korean American Association has served dinner and provided clothing to Northeast Ohio's homeless men.
The idea was a brainstorm of association president Sam Kim.
"We did this last year and provided blankets for these men," Kim said.
"It was a joy for us to see how happy these men were then, and we knew we had to do this again.
But we couldn't do this alone . . . we had 10 Korean churches who helped support this event."
Dinner consisted of a salad, beef, chopped chae - noodles mixed with spinach, carrots and soy sauce - dumplings, fried rice, a dinner roll and desserts of different flavored pies and pastries.
Chefs said the dinners were toned down spice - wise so as not to upset the stomachs of the men not used to more powerful Korean spiced food like pickled cabbage or kimchi.
"Last year the chefs told us to prepare normal meals just in case the Korean food didn't agree with some of the men," said Mike Sering, the Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry's director of housing and shelter.
"It wasn't needed. The men just loved those dinners."
The jackets were dark blue winter coats almost full length with a zippered hood.
A logo with "Korean American Friendship" was imprinted on each jacket. Lee said they were made in Korea and China.
"We welcome all kind of men's clothes and donations," Sering said, "but when we get new clothes, it's really something special."
